Analog Way Aquilon RS4 Drives Content for Eric Chou’s “Odyssey~Journey” World Tour in Shanghai
Analog Way’s Aquilon RS4 4K/8K presentation system and RC400T event controller powered stunning visual content for Eric Chou’s sell-out “Odyssey~Journey” world tour when it played back-to-back concerts in Shanghai, China recently.
Chou is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter and actor known for his love ballads. The “Odyssey~Journey” tour kicked off last year in Singapore and has played legs in Asia, Australia, the US and Canada.
The tour’s visual design team at REALIVE won the 2023 Muse Design Award in the Conceptual Design-Entertainment category for their work on the show. The MUSE Design Awards celebrates the world’s best in design and innovation.
The “Odyssey~Journey” tour features a four-sided surround stage design with a host of visual displays and height differences. Four sets of giant elevated neon lights spelling out ‘ERIC’ and three layers of large, flown LED screens display content: a 12-meter round LED screen, a six-sided 200-inch transparent screen and six sets of triangular LED screens.
REALIVE created exclusive animated content for the show with Art Director Evan Wu tailoring the visual design to the stage scenario and songs; the content coordinates with lighting, lasers, SFX, dancers and the artist’s performance. Wu praised the visual design team led by Visual Supervisor Jason Ling for meeting world-class production standards.
Miss Lo Wei Jun, the organizer of the concert and the CEO of MStar International Entertainment, notes that the quality of Chou’s MStar productions have always been the biggest consideration.
“We want to let Eric Chou's creative works be presented on the stage in the most beautiful form, she says. "The ‘Odyssey' four-sided stage was used all over the world; the audience entered the arenas with amazing expressions, immediately taking out their mobile phones to photograph the center-hung LED screen.”
Analog Way’s Aquilon RS4 was selected to drive the content because of its stability and high-performance processing power.
“Every performance on a tour may need to be changed at any time depending on the venue and director,” says Jason Ling. “Analog Way’s Aquilon RS4 can handle that easily and operate stably. The choice of Analog Way guaranteed us peace of mind.”
