Midra 4K units are designed and manufactured in France, like the rest of Analog Way's product range. Designated Midra 4K products are also certified by Analog Way as compliant with the U.S. Trade Agreements Act (TAA, 19 U.S.C. §§ 2501-2581).

All four Midra 4K models share the same compact, rugged 19-inch rack-mount chassis, 2RU in height.

Every Midra 4K unit provides 10 seamless inputs:

Eikos 4K, Pulse 4K, and QuickMatrix 4K each have two active 4K60 outputs, with mirrored HDMI™ 2.0 and 12G/6G/3G-SDI (level A & B) connectors – up to 4K60 8-bit 4:4:4 or 12-bit 4:2:2 on HDMI, and up to 4K60 10-bit 4:2:2 on SDI. QuickVu 4K differs: it has one 4K60 Program output (same connectors) plus one Full HD Auxiliary output. Custom output formats up to 4096 pixels in width are supported. How the outputs can be used (edge-blended, as two independent Program outputs, or as one Program + one Auxiliary output) depends on the model – see the model comparison table in Section I.

Yes. Every Midra 4K unit has one dedicated multiviewer output (1x HDMI™ 1.4 + 1x mirrored 3G-SDI), at resolutions up to 2560x1600@60 8-bit 4:2:2. It offers 17 resizable widgets with customizable layouts (20 memories), monitors the Program, Preview and auxiliary screens plus all connected inputs, and includes built-in clocks, countdown timers, and timers.

Midra 4K supports 200 user-definable screen memories plus 50 master memories, along with an innovative “Quick Preset” feature for fast recall of common configurations.

Up to 8 concurrent 4K still images per unit: 4 for the foreground layer and 4 for the background, with alpha-channel support. Images are stored in a 50-slot still image library, and can be imported/exported via Web RCS or captured directly from a live input.

When properly configured – with inputs and outputs genlocked or following the same rate – Midra 4K can achieve latency as low as one frame, thanks to Analog Way's 5th-generation scaling engine inherited from the Aquilon systems. Since Midra 4K supports frame rates up to 144Hz, this one-frame latency translates into an even lower value in milliseconds at higher refresh rates than at 60Hz.

Yes. Each unit has a dedicated BNC connector for Genlock, Black Burst, and tri-level sync, plus a loop-through connector to daisy-chain the reference signal to additional units. Midra 4K can also output its own internal rate, so it can be used as the reference signal for other devices.

Yes, Midra 4K is compatible with both HDCP 1.4 and HDCP 2.2.

Yes. Midra 4K offers advanced EDID management: EDIDs from connected inputs and outputs can be read and stored in an EDID bank, and custom EDIDs can be created and loaded to inputs or outputs as needed.

Predefined video quality presets or a custom bitrate can be used, and credentials (URL and private key) for each web service are managed directly on the unit.

Yes, Midra 4K can de-embed and embed PCM audio on all inputs and active outputs:

Yes, at the signal level. Each unit has a dedicated Genlock BNC input plus a loop-through connector, so the same tri-level sync or Black Burst reference signal can be daisy-chained to additional units – keeping them frame-locked even though each remains independently configured and controlled.

The choice mainly comes down to how many independent outputs are needed and whether a live video background is required. Eikos 4K and Pulse 4K support a live background and up to four split layers across their two 4K60 PGM outputs; Eikos 4K additionally offers an edge-lending mode for a single wide seamless canvas. QuickMatrix 4K provides two fully independent 4K60 PGM outputs with a still-image background, while QuickVu 4K is the entry point with one 4K60 Program output plus one Full HD Auxiliary output.

Flexible control options include a full-featured front panel with a 480 × 272 color LCD, built-in browser-based Web RCS, the RC400T event controller, Shot Box² and Control Box³ dedicated control surfaces, SKAARHOJ Air Fly Pro, and Bitfocus Companion. Extensive integration capabilities include SNMPv2-MIB network monitoring, REST API and advanced JSON-based TCP (AWJ) protocol, Crestron® drivers, the Q-SYS plugin, and AW VideoCompositor premium Crestron® GUI.

No. Web RCS is embedded in every unit; the unit's IP address just needs to be entered into a web browser for the interface to load automatically.

Yes. The free AW Midra 4K Simulator (available for Windows and macOS on Analog Way's website) allows any Midra 4K model to be configured and rehearsed offline, ahead of a show or for training purposes. A show prepared on the simulator can then be exported and imported directly onto a real unit, making it easy to build and refine a configuration in advance and deploy it on-site without starting from scratch.

Each unit provides I/O connector status LEDs on the front panel for quick troubleshooting, along with live monitoring of inputs and the Program output directly on the built-in color TFT LCD display.
